SAMISH ISLAND, Wash. (Metro) -- A buoy marked with what Jeff Ingman thinks are Japanese characters could be one of Skagit County's first pieces of tsunami debris.
Ingman tells goskagit.com he discovered the buoy on a Samish Island beach Saturday near a waterfront property he was showing.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) predicts that the first big wave of debris from the 2011 Japanese tsunami will start to hit the Washington coast this fall.
