Air Pollution From Puget Sound Ports Reported Declining

SEATTLE, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Air pollution from Puget Sound ports is declining.

"The Seattle Times" says this follows a report five years ago that said nearly one third of the worst air pollution in the Puget Sound area was from its marine system and the trucks and trains that serve it.

The newspaper says tougher federal diesel emissions standards and efforts by agencies like the Port of Seattle have brought big improvements.
